SHE's here!

So, we had a GIRL! 

Throughout the entire pregnancy, Chris and I both thought it was another boy. Even Dr. Tetirick, who had correctly predicted Salem's gender, had guessed 'boy' as well. And, as fate would have it, all of us were incorrect in our guesses. We were definitely surprised but not the least bit disappointed :) 

Without further ado, I would like to introduce you to...

Tessa Faith Glasgow

July 16th, 2014

7 lbs. 11 oz.

19 3/4 inches

What do the boys think? They are in LOVE. For now. We are soaking it up as long as it lasts. 

One of Colin's first remarks: 'Can I take her to show-and-tell?'

One of Salem's first remarks: 'I put the baby in the trash.'

About Salem at TWO:

Height: 33'', 21st percentile
Weight: 25 lbs., 14 percentile

Graduated to a big boy bed in his brother's room
Loves Spider-Man, taking bubble baths, reading books, and playing outside
Can sing his ABC's and count to 12
Still loves to dance. And eat 'nom noms'.
Constantly asks 'what happened'. Even though he usually is the cause of 'what happened'.
Calls Momma and Dadda's bed 'Salem's bed' and sneaks into it every night :)

Colin::5 Years

Awww! I can't believe I have a 5 YEAR OLD! (Technically a five-and-a-half-year-old at the timing of this post.  Don't judge).

 So about Colin at FIVE:

Height: 42'' (12th percentile)
Weight: 38 lb. 6 oz. (18th percentile)

loves his little brother and is looking forward to having another sibling :)
builds Legos- all day, everyday
watches Indiana Jones, IronMan, SuperMan, and every other super hero movie
makes jokes about farts, poop, and other bodily functions as a hobby

A Birthday Brunch

To celebrate Salem's first year, we decided to throw a Birthday Brunch- because everyone loves breakfast food, right?? Our crazy friends and family arrived EARLY in the morning. We enjoyed belgian waffles, mini quiches, fruit, and cake balls (no pictures of food so I had to leave some details. I know Salem will be dying to know when he is older). Of course, all of my grand ideas didn't quite make the cut but it turned out just right. And I think the little man wouldn't have had it any other way. Happy 1st Birthday, Salem!

Carving Pumpkins

Grammy and Grampy picked out a special, carving pumpkin just for Colin's big day. Grampy originally wanted to carve Colin's name with the number '4' for but Colin refused. He wanted a plain-old jack-o-lantern with a 'big smile'. I think Grampy was just a little relieved!

A Birthday Party

After going all out for last year's party, we decided to keep it a little more low-key this year. With a new house and a new baby all in the same year, Mom and Dad aren't too up on the party-planning these days :)

Friday, his actual birthday, Chris and I both took the day off. Colin opened his presents from the us within minutes after waking up and then I made pancakes for breakfast. Which Colin thought was a completely crazy idea as I usually only make them for dinner. He's only four, so we have some time to change that!

Then we packed up the car and headed to Fort Wayne. Grammy and Grampy have a boat, which Colin loves and since we hadn't been out with them all summer we thought that it would be a great to take him out on Saturday to celebrate his birthday. Only it turned out to be the coldest weekend of the year! Sorry, bud.

Instead, we relaxed around the house, carved a pumpkin just for him, and prepared the food and goodies for his birthday celebration. He couldn't have been any happier! Simple and sweet.

And of course, no fall birthday would be complete without a bonfire!

Can read his Bob books and counts to 20. 

His best friends are Momma, Dadda, and Salem. On most days :)
